Letter to the Delegates

I am writing this letter to those who are concerned about the direction of our state and nation. Last year in Minnesota, the Democrat controlled legislature spent the entire $19 billion surplus, increased taxes by another $10 billion and increased our state budget by 40 percent.  Did your income go up by 40 percent?

In addition, they mandated that Minnesota’s electric grid be 100 percent carbon-free by 2040, relying only on wind and solar power, raising the cost of electricity exponentially and resulting in a high probability of rolling blackouts.

Under complete DFL control, parents lost their rights when it comes to things like abortion and sex changes for their children.  Governor Walz signed into law a bill that allows abortion on demand for any reason, at any stage of pregnancy, even for minor girls; without their parent’s knowledge or consent. And if a baby survives an abortion, that child can be left to die under this new law.

And if your minor child wants to transition to another sex, including use of hormone blockers and mutilating surgery, don’t think you will have anything to say about it.  In fact, children from other states can be brought to MN for sex changes if their state doesn’t allow it, as long as that child has an adult who brings them here.  It is unclear yet who is going to pay for these sex changes and abortions. Most likely it will be you, the taxpayer.

Did I mention that Democrats decided they are going to replace our state flag and seal, changing them completely and removing any historical content, such as the date Minnesota became a state?  This will cost counties and the State over a million dollars to implement; another waste of taxpayer money.

Currently there are bills introduced by Democrats that will make Minnesota a sanctuary state, meaning that our state will refuse to enforce federal immigration laws.  This will be another financial burden on counties, schools and healthcare.  And as of January 1, 2025 illegal immigrants in Minnesota will qualify for MN Care, which will cost them little or nothing, while you the taxpayer are trying to figure out how to pay for your health insurance.

If you are as concerned as I am about any of the above issues, I hope you will join us at the Republican caucuses on Tuesday, February 27th from 7:00-9:00 PM.  You will be pleased to find many like-minded citizens to discuss issues and elect delegates to the upcoming Republican County conventions.

If you identify with the Republican Party principles and intend to vote Republican in the 2024 general election you may participate in our caucus on Feb. 27th. You can only participate in one party’s caucus. Find your caucus location here as the locations have changed since the last caucus:  https://caucusfinder.sos.state.mn.us

We also want to encourage you to vote in the Republican Presidential Nomination Primary on Tuesday, March 5th.  Early voting has already begun.  You can go to www.MNvotes.org for information about absentee voting and polling locations.

Sincerely,

Emily Gruenhagen
